IEEE Smart Tech Metro Area Workshops provide participants with a unique learning experience with topics on the cutting-edge of technical innovation today.

Each workshop is a springboard to a deeper understanding of technology and its myriad applications and potential for innovation.

The daily tracks for each workshop are designed to make the day as productive and comfortable as possible. You may choose from one workshop per day.

On Friday,  November 4 choose from three workshops on parallel all-day tracks:

On Saturday, November 5 you may also choose from three workshops, some of which are repeated:

Each day begins at 7 a.m. with a continental breakfast, moves through an opening session on Friday morning and course instruction, to lunch at noon. Two more course sessions, separated by a break, culminate at 5:45 p.m.

New! Skills Gap Discussion Panel Join us Friday morning at 8 a.m. before the track sessions start for a special speaker panel discussing the skills gap that exists in today's workforce between the new positions companies have to fill, and the qualifications of the applicants. The future economic health of our region, state, and nation depends on our ability to create and grow companies that compete effectively in the international marketplace, and this takes not only innovative and creative leaders and entrepreneurs, but also a skilled workforce to fill the technical positions demanded by these expanding and future industries. Hear different perspectives on the issue, as well as take away recommendations and resources for those looking to transition their career, or are unemployed.

On Friday evening, join us for a reception with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar after the plenary speaker address by David A. King, former Director of the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center and Executive Vice President at Dynetics, Inc., a Huntsville-based defense contractor.

Just Added! Speed Coaching sessions on Saturday - Work with a Career Coach in a brief, 10 minute session to tackle tough career dilemmas privately and quickly. Register onsite for your session when you check in.

On Saturday, the workshop ends at 5 p.m.
